Uncle Roger's
Classic Computer Wish List

There are quite a few computers I'd like to add to my collection. The following list are the ones I'd most like to get my hands on, (in something resembling alphabetical order) but I'm interested in just about anything old or unusual. (And if it turns out I'm not interested in something you've got, I can probably help you find a good home for it.)

A quick note about values: Most older computers, especially anything "PC-Compatible" (MS-DOS or Windows based) are worth $5-$10 at most, and perhaps not even that if shipping is expensive. There are a few that could be worth as much as $100 in top-notch condition, and two or three that could sell for a few hundred dollars. There are only a couple of computers that have sold for more than a thousand dollars. Unfortunately, I generally can't afford anything other than the first category -- if I come across something that is very significant to me personally, I might be able to go as high as $100 or so. (A San Francisco mortgage, $90k in termite/dry rot damage and a new kid will do that to you.) Please keep this in mind when you want to sell an overly ubiquitous Toshiba or Zenith portable to pay off your mortgage.

If you have any of these, or any other older computers, (especially portables,) that you are willing to part with, please e-mail me with the details. Even if you're not willing to part with it, I would love to hear about any older portable computers you have or know about. I am also looking for documentation, advertising, and power supplies for these or any older computers.

Note that due to my choice of wife and kids over computers, most of my collection is packed away (see above note regarding termites, etc.) and I don't have access to documentation etc., even if I had the time to do a lot of research. There are companies that offer assistance with such matters (for a fee); I recommend VintageTech. I will try to put as much documentation on-line as time permits, but I can't promise anything.
