The Panasonic Senior Partner, targeted at accountants, lawyers, and auditors, attempted to provide complete functionality in a single, (trans)portable unit. In addition to the then-standard built-in monitor, detachable keyboard, and handle, the Sr. Partner offered a built-in printer.

Positioned on top, at the left rear of the computer, it was conveniently located, and saved the user the hassle of having to both carry and setup a separate printer. Today, one either carries one of many printers ranging from the size of a ream of paper to the size of a rolling pin, or one makes use of a printer already at one's destination (either belonging to someone one is working with, or at one's hotel.)

In the days of the Sr. Partner, however, one could not be so sure that a printer would be there, let alone that it would be "LaserJet Compatible"; having one's own printer built-in was a major asset.

In addition, the Sr. Partner's printer used rolls of paper, allowing, presumably, for spreadsheets of infinite width or length, without unsightly perforations.

I would love to hear of your experiences, if you have carried a Sr. Partner or otherwise worked with one at sometime in the past (or present, for that matter.)
