Epson HX-20

The First Laptop

Resources
Some say it was the first laptop; I certainly won't argue. Still, given it's relatively small screen and large size, I'm not surprised the later TRS-80 Model 100 was more successful. Nonetheless, with its integral printer and decent expansion capabilities, it was a better attempt than most cookie-cutter laptops we see today.

Mine came from Pacific Scientific (and no, I don't know who or what that is) and includes an Expansion Unit on the left. Opposite the printer, in the upper right corner, part of the case can be removed to insert a microcassette recorder.
