Bondwell B310Plus

My lightweight workhorse

This was my main machine for quite a while. The only reason I replaced it was for a PC-based project that required a hefty '486 windows box. Still, when I was using it, it served my needs extremely well.

With a full megabyte of memory, it could easily load Sidekick, SmartKey, and Reflections, with enough left over to drop to DOS and run PC-Write all at the same time. I had splurged on the larger, 40mb hard drive as well. Battery life wasn't the greatest, but it was long enough to suit my needs.

I bought this computer through the DAK catalog. Run by Drew Alan Kaplan, it was famous for its "articles" explaining how each item was the best of its kind and you simply couldn't live without acting on this incredible deal. Still, they did offer some good deals, and bundled a lot of software with the computers they sold. I haven't seen a catalog in quite a while, which leads me to believe they've since gone out of business.
